Sept. 30, 2021

  • Attention students interested in OMUN: There will be an informational meeting during the first afternoon rotation held in Mr. Chaney's room. If you are unable to attend, you can also stop by and pick up information from Mrs. Meiser in the second rotation in her room, 116. Remember, applications for OMUN are due the day we return. Spots are competitive this year; do not ignore this process. 
  • there is a bubble ball game/tournament next Friday October 8th. There will be teams of 3 with two games going at once. It is 5 dollars per person and you just sign a waiver before playing, you are allowed at most 5 to a team but subs are optional. Sign up your teams and pick up your permission slip in the office.

  • The Lady Bears volleyball team beat John Glenn at home last night in 4 sets. Leading the attack was Kayla Dulgar with 33 assists, 13 digs and 4 aces.  Ashley Newell added 16 kills & 3 stuff blocks, and Ashlyn Bible put away 10 kills. Britton McCoy added 7 kills and Liv Spaulding earned 4 stuff blocks. Cayla Shrimplin had 22 digs and 3 aces. The Lady Bears improve to 11-4 on the season, and take on state-ranked Tri-Valley tomorrow night, whose only loss this season is to River View. GO LADY BEARS!
  • The River View Boys soccer team improves to 11-0-1 on the season as they defeated the John Glenn Muskies 5-4-2 in a 4-3 slug fest at John Glenn High school.

    The JV contest ended in a 1-1 draw.

Sept. 28,,2021

  • Attention students interested in OMUN: A link has been emailed to you to join the OMUN google classroom. Our delegation numbers are limited this year because of covid, so you will need to fill out an application by THIS FRIDAY if you are interested. Students will be notified when we return from fair if they have been chosen for the delegation. Upperclassmen and students who have attended before will be the first to fill slots. 

    Freshmen, there was some issue with your email delivering so the code is posted for you inside the freshman google classroom.

  • The MVL Council is selling shirts for the Coshocton vs River View football game. If you are interested in ordering one, see Kayla Dulgar, Piper Andrews, Hayden Walters, Carter Fry or Mrs. Snyder. Order are due October 8th.

  • There will be a brief meeting for any boy interested in playing basketball Wednesday morning in the auditorium during Enrichment. If you cannot make it, please let Coach Belden know prior to the meeting. 
  • If you are planning on being off for the fair, you need a note from your advisor on the days that you are needed. These days will be excused but still count against your total of hours you are allowed to miss.

  • Girls Soccer beat Maysville on Senior Night last night 10-0.  Kylie Miller scored 4 goals.  Kelsey Bowman had 2 goals and an assist.  Emma Sampsel scored twice.

    Paige Stone and Kam McGinnis also scored.  Kam Mcginnis, Michaela White, Cadie Guilliams, and Madison Graham had assists. The girls will play at Coshocton tomorrow at 1 pm.

  • King and Queen voting is now available. Go to the Student Council page and vote for King and Queen. Voting will close at 5:00 on Friday.

  • The theme for the Homecoming game is USA.  The football team will be carrying 13 American flags in honor of the 13 servicemen killed in Afghanistan. So be red, white, and blue proud!!!!
  • Students, please don't forget to sign up for the dodgeball challenge taking place this Thursday.  Winning class gets bragging rights. Sign up sheet is located on Mr. Infante's door.  Room 210.  Thank you!
  • The Black Bear Band was in action Saturday at the Cambridge Cavalcade of Bands.  

    The band earned second place out of three bands in Class B.  

    The percussion received Best Percussion Class B

  • Attention students interested in OMUN:

    We are awaiting new guidelines from the Ohio Leadership Institute regarding this year's conference. Please listen carefully to announcements, because as soon as we know how we can proceed, we will need to get started on our preparations. Be aware, we may not be able to take the same numbers we've taken in recent years. As soon as we know, we'll let you know. 

  • Attention Sophomores, class officers will be around tomorrow during enrichment to collect money for class dues. Sophomore dues are $10 and if you need to also pay freshman dues still, those are also $10.

  • As in years past, the MVESC sponsors the MVESC Teacher of the Year.  I wanted to let everyone know our MVESC Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Karin Moran. For 32 years, she has been a life changer for the students at RVHS. Karin teaches business and math courses at RVHS. She is also the Senior Class Advisor, along with teaching the Mentoring Program Students who job shadow in our community each week. Help me congratulate Mrs. Karin Moran, our MVESC 2021 Teacher of the Year.

    We also had 3 other teachers that were nominated for this very prestigious award, Mrs. Lori Foresi at Warsaw Elementary, Mrs. Amy Fox at RVJH and Mrs. Nicole Raber Keene Elementary. Congratulations to them and the work that they do in their respective buildings across our district.

  • Art Club applications are due on Friday. If you need to pick one up see Mr. Stein today.

  • The host River View Black Bears faced off against the only MVL opponent to beat them last year, the Tri Valley Scotties. The Bears were able to take control of the game early on as they scored 8 goals in the first half and added 6 more in the second half to lead to the shutout victory. 

    The Black Bears improve to 8-0-1 on the season and their next opponent will be Zanesville 

    this Saturday and the Scotties fall to 2-5 on the season and will next be facing the Dover Tornadoes also on Saturday.   

    There was no JV action tonight.

  • Teen leadership will be hosting a 9-Square in the air tournament during homecoming week the 20th-24th. It will be in the courtyard during both lunch periods. There is no cost to play, just come out, have fun and get excited for homecoming!

  • Girls soccer lost a hard fought game to Zanesville last night 2-0. Cadie Guilliams, Kelsey Bowman, and Kamryn McGinnis were outstanding in the game.

Sept. 13, 2021

  • Girl's golf had a good night. They beat West M 203-238. Paige Nicely had a 43, making match medalist. Caily6 Shriver had a 51, Chloey Geog with a 50, & Hollee Shenaman with a 59.
  • Homecoming Court voting is now open. Please go to the Student Council webpage and vote for who you would like to represent your class on the Homecoming Court. Voting will close Thursday at 5:00 pm.
  • TLC is once again sponsoring Teacher and Staff of the Month. Go to the TLC webpage and nominate a teacher or staff member that you believe has gone above and beyond and deserves recognition., Nominations for this month close at 5:00 pm on Thursday.

Sept. 12, 2021 

  • The host River View Black Bears 7-0 faced off against Fairfield Union 7-0 as the two state ranked teams faced off on Saturday night. It was a heavyweight fight for a full eighty minutes and in the end both teams left undefeated with a 0-0 draw. 
  • In the JV match the Bears walked away with a 3-2 victory.

Sept. 9, 2021

  • Attention freshmen:  We are looking for students interested in a leadership opportunity to run for freshman class officer. The offices available are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and News Reporter. The primary responsibilities of class officers as freshman involve dues collection. If you are interested in applying, please fill out the application in the freshmen Google Classroom and submit before 11:59 PM Tuesday September 14.

Sept. 8, 2021

  • Homecoming tickets will be sold week of homecoming, Sept. 20th through 24th. Class dues must be paid to get tickets. The tickets are $10.00 per person. If you are taking a date from a different school, forms are in the office. The forms are due back to RVHS by Sept. 20th.
  • The River View Boys Varsity Soccer continued to roll as they beat the Morgan Raiders 8-1 improving to 7-0 on the season and with the loss Morgan fell to 1-4 on the year.
  • Last night the Lady Bears Volleyball team beat Maysville in 3 straight sets. Ashley Newell had 10 kills, 2 blocks & 100% serving efficiency to lead the way. Kayla Dulgar also had 22 assists & 3 aces, Cayla Shrimplin had 25 digs and Bid Smith had 100% serving efficiency. The Lady Bears look for revenge tomorrow night against Philo at home. Freshmen start at 5:30 p.m.

Sept. 7, 2021

  • Lady Bears volleyball went 2-0 over the weekend, improving their record to 4-2. 

  • Thursday they beat previously undefeated Tri-valley in 5 sets. Ashley Newell recorded 17 kills and Alivia Spaulding added 15, while Kayla Dulgar earned 45 assists, which included her one thousandth assist! Kayla added 7 aces, 15 digs and 3 blocks. Newell had 6 blocks & Spaulding added 3. Cayla Shrimplin had 21 digs and 4 aces as well.

    On Saturday the volleyball team beat cross- county rival Ridgewood at home in the Volley for the cure match. Ashley Newell had 18 kills and Kayla Dulgar added 12, along with 30 assists. Cayla Shrimplin had 15 digs, and Bid Smith had 13 digs.

    The Lady Bears are back in action this week. Come cheer them on at  home Thursday against Philo.

  • Hello my name is Jillian Stamper and as a part of my senior project “random acts of kindness”, I will be setting up a prayer box by the auditorium doors. If you or someone you know are in need of a prayer, put it on a small piece of paper and place it in the box. Please do not put your name or any identifying information on the paper.   • Girl's golf is now 2-2 on the season. Paige Nicely shot a 47. Caily Shriver with a 53, Chloey Geog with a 48, & Kiera McPeck with a 56, making that her new PR! Hollee Sheneman shot 63.
  • Applications for Coshocton Canal Queen are now available. Canal Queen candidates are 15-19 year old females from Coshocton or surrounding counties interested in promoting Roscoe Village. The Canal Queen will receive a cash prize upon the successful completion of her reign. Applications are available in the main office or from Mrs. Meiser and are due September 17.
